Beach Club at Costa Palmas (as Project Manager for Guerin Glass Architects)

The primarily open air beach club serves as an active threshold between the desert terrain and the Sea of Cortez. It houses a restaurant, bars, pools, media room, recreation lounge, fitness center, offices, sales center, and gathering spaces. Formally the club is composed of a series of shifting horizontal planes that define a path to the surrounding estuary and ultimately to the beach. Vertical moments are quiet, planted, and low so that the architecture serves first as a guide for negotiating the landscape.
